A MESSAGE FROM CEO, LYNN DOLCE
I am thrilled to begin 2017 as the leader of an amazing organization that has had a huge impact on hundreds of thousands of children in the Bay Area since 1851.
For the past 165 years, Edgewood Center for Children and Families has been committed to helping youth who cannot help themselves. I have always been amazed by the accomplishments Edgewood has made in transforming young lives while helping families get to the root of many serious issues such as traumatic stress, abuse, and other significant behavioral health challenges.
My background includes more than 25 years working in the field of children’s mental health including the last 3 years as the Foster Care Mental Health Director at the San Francisco Department of Public Health where I led the oversight of behavioral health services for the county’s children and youth in foster care.
I’m looking forward to working together with our staff and you so that we can advance our community partnerships and align best practices across all of our locations and services. Together, I am confident we will bring Edgewood into the next generation of relationship-based, family-focused, and trauma-informed clinical care.

MAXIMUS FOUNDATION
We welcomed Lili Zahedani of the Maximus Foundation which recently awarded Edgewood with a grant to support our San Mateo Kinship Caregiver program. The foundation has helped support this program since 2014.
The Maximus Foundation is dedicated to supporting nonprofits, like Edgewood, who are committed to helping disadvantaged or otherwise underserved youth, families, and communities.
Since 2000, Edgewood's San Mateo Kinship program has provided support services to more than 2,000 kin caregivers - usually grandparents who step in to take care of children when the parents are no longer able to.

Last month you may recall reading about our Cottage Improvement Project campaign - an initiative to renovate three of our residential homes for youth.
On March 7, we took time to recognize the first achieved milestone of the project - the renovation of Dimond cottage - and to thank the supporters that made this make-over possible. Construction included the installation of new hard wood floors, new furniture, closet repairs, painting and much more.
