December 2015
The holidays are here and as we begin celebrations with family and friends, we want to say thank for your support of Edgewood.
We were fortunate to share holiday cheer with supporters like you, and with our youth and staff. For instance, members of our Auxiliary recently visited and hosted a lunch and holiday gathering for our Bayview families. We also got together with old and new friends, community members, and supporters, for a holiday kick-off. We are truly thankful for the donations of gifts and items requested by our youths for this year's Holiday Gift Drive. Thanks to the generosity of many corporate supporters and you, Edgewood kids will have a brighter holiday and year.
Enjoy the season and thank you for making Edgewood a special place in the community and for the thousands of children, youth, and their families we help each year. Happy Holidays!
Did you know that 1 in 7 children in San Francisco live in households headed by a grandparent or other relative? Last year, Edgewood's Kinship Support Network changed the lives of 80 caregivers and 175 youth in San Francisco County alone. With a long history of helping families in need (23 years to be exact) Edgewood continues to help youth achieve permanency and to provide caregivers with the critical services and resources they need to raise their kin.
Mandy", a teenager who had contemplated suicide, is thankful to be alive today in part due to Edgewood's Crisis Stabilization Unit - a very unique program that has dramatically changed the lives of over 400 youth since it started just 16 months ago. Find out how Edgewood's expertise will help shape the future of child crisis services throughout the state.
Kids Who Share is a new personal fundraising site that gives you the tools to build your own fundraising web page and share with your friends and families. It's also a great way for your kids to get the philanthropic spirit by letting them forgo their holiday and birthday gifts in order to raise funds to help Edgewood kids in need.
Mark your calendars for the 50th Edgewood Fair April 28-29 as we celebrate Edgewood's legacy of helping thousands of kids and families in need since 1851. If you'd like to become a sponsor, now is a great time to sign up and receive exclusive benefits.
