back to school enewsletter

Whether you're heading back to college, high school, middle school, or elementary school, the back-to-school season is in full swing!  For many students and parents, this can mean a time of stress, anxiety, and the fear of the unknown.

Find out how you can alleviate unnecessary stress in your household and in the classroom with a little planning, attention to detail, and communication. Also, learn how you can donate school supplies and other tools Edgewood youth will need to succeed. A full list is included at the end of this story.

FSP

Edgewood is the only organization to provide specialized services to youth and emerging adults in San Mateo County under the Full Service Partnership (FSP) program. The FSP provides comprehensive services to individuals living with mental illness.

We were heartened to hear that the program is having a positive impact on the youth and families we serve. A recent analysis completed by the American Institutes for Research shows that since the inception of the FSP program in 2005, there has been a statistically significant decrease in the number of youth and families requiring psychiatric hospitalizations and emergency services as a result of their participation in the program. In short - it works!

Edgewood youth recently enjoyed the great outdoors during Camp Edgewood, a program that has been going strong for more than 50 years.

Camp Edgewood pairs real life activities and experiences with independent life skills development.

Special thanks to The Finish Line Youth Foundation for helping to make summer memories possible for Edgewood kids.
