Edgewood turns 164 this week, and looking back over our work providing supportive services to youth in San Francisco for over a century and a half, there is much to celebrate! We have come a long way in our understanding of mental health, from our origins as an orphanage that addressed children's immediate needs like food and shelter, to being a leading behavioral health provider that supports youth and addresses the effects of trauma, abuse and mental illness.
We have been servicing the San Francisco Bay Area community since the Gold Rush, through the 1906 earthquake, and both world wars, and continue to offer essential programs today.

Making sure that families have access to essential mental health services is a priority not only at Edgewood, but across the state.
Recently in California, Assembly Bill 741 was introduced which if passed, would ensure that mental health services for children and youth experiencing a crisis is available and accessible.

We are grateful to Willie Mays and his Say Hey Foundation for investing in our youth! In addition to providing grant support since 2012, Willie and his foundation have made it possible for our youth to watch the Giants in action from his suite at AT&T Park.
At Edgewood, sports and recreation are essential in helping youth gain confidence and realize their potential. We're thrilled that Willie and his foundation are helping support our youth.
