February 2015
At the national level, approximately 13 percent of youth ages 13 to 18 experience severe mental health disorders in a given year, but only 20 percent have access to treatment. When faced with a mental health crisis, some have nowhere to turn except to hospitals or emergency rooms for treatment. However, at Edgewood Center for Children and Families, there's an alternative to hospitals that provides a more safe, stable, and calming environment for children with mental health conditions.
