Edgewood Emerald 12K champions are people that have decided to reach out to their networks to raise funds to help our children and families run the last mile of the Emerald Across the Bay 12K on March 20. They are people like Gloria Jardon, one of our therapists who sees the struggles our families and children face every day, and Matt Madaus, our new CEO whose great passion is helping families support their children. Kinship caregivers face unique obstacles in their journey to raising successful children. Most are over 55 and face health problems and lifestyle changes that come with advancing age. Thanks to a grant from the Sequoia Healthcare District, our nurses are able to provide workshops to help caregivers take better care of themselves, as well as the children for whom they provide.
